Big Mac Tacos

A unique twist on one of the world’s favorite fast foods. This viral recipe for Big Mac Tacos has been taking the internet by storm!


Ingredients

Units Scale

For the homemade Big Mac sauce

  • 6 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sweet relish
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon pickles juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

For the smash tacos

  • 350 grams ground beef
  • 6 mini tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese (or American cheese)
  • 1 iceberg lettuce leaf, shredded
  • 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
  • 1/4 cup onion, roughly chopped
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Big Mac sauce

Mix all the ingredients together, and set aside. 

Prepare the Smash tacos

  1. Divide the ground beef into six equal portions, and work each portion into a round patty.
  2. Place the rounded patty on a tortilla, and press it down lightly to flatten or “smash” it.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a nonstick frying pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the tortilla (patty-side down) to the pan. Cook until browned and cooked through, 2-3 minutes.
  4. Brush the back of the tortilla with a touch of olive oil, and carefully flip it over. Add a slice of cheese and continue cooking, allowing the tortilla to toast, and the cheese to melt, 1-2 minutes. 
  5. Remove from heat, plate, and top with shredded lettuce, pickles, chopped onions, salt and pepper (to taste), and the homemade Big Mac sauce. Gently fold into a taco. Enjoy!
