Description

Try this simple Asian-inspired pasta dish that’s full of good old fashioned flavors. This easy vegetarian recipe isn’t authentic, but it IS very tasty.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 350g linguine pasta
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms
  • 1 carrot
  • 1/2 zucchini
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 34 spring onions
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 5 cups hot water

Instructions

  1. Start by chopping your vegetables into thin strips.
  2. Once prepared, heat your olive oil over a low heat in a wok. Add the sesame seeds to the hot olive oil. Add in the sliced mushrooms, fry for 2-3 minutes, followed by the remaining chopped vegetables. Stir and cook for another 5 minutes.
  3. Add the pasta, soy sauce, hot water, and cook for 7-8 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked through. Add the honey, and mix well.
  4. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top, along with some chopped green onions for garnish. Enjoy!

Notes

If you feel that your pasta is too wet, try adding a teaspoon of cornstarch to thicken the mixture. I’ve never had to do this, but different pans, heats, and pasta brands can create some differences.
